Form a crust about 1/2 inch thick. Use arrowroot powder to help prevent the dough from sticking. Make your butter/herb mixture. Melt butter in a saucepan and combine spices/herbs together. Spread/pour butter over the crust and then sprinkle with your herbs/spices. Cook for 10 minutes then take out of the oven and top with your favorite sauce and your favorite pizza toppings.

Once all your topping are on there, put back in the oven for 16-18 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is crispy. Enjoy!

RECIPE

Healthy Pizza Crust (grain-free & gluten free)

Ingredients

2 1/4 c almond flour

1 tsp baking soda

3/4 c arrowroot powder or tapioca starch

1 TBSP olive oil

3 eggs

1/2 tsp sea salt

Butter/Herb Mixture:

2 TBSP melted butter

½ tsp onion powder

½ tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp dried basil

1/2 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried chives or parsley

½ tsp salt

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 415 degrees

  2. Add almond flour, baking soda, arrowroot powder, olive oil, eggs and salt together in a bowl until it forms a ball. The mixture will be some what soft, but it should roll into a ball.

  3. With a rolling pin, roll out the dough with two pieces of parchment paper (one on the bottom and one on top) Use arrowroot powder to keep the dough from sticking if you need too. Sprinkle arrowroot powder on the parchment paper and rolling pin before rolling out.

  4. Roll until it forms a crust about ½ inch thick. Carefully place on a pizza stone. Cooking the pizza on a pizza stone will help the crust to cook evenly. It definitely makes a difference.

  5. Before you place in the oven make your butter/herb rub. Melt butter in a small saucepan and add your herbs/spices to a small bowl and mix. Spread the melted butter all over crust and then sprinkle the herbs/spices so it's all covered. It adds much more flavor to the crust if you do this.

  6. Cook in the oven for 10 mins, take out and place toppings on it-cheese, sauce, mushrooms, kale, olives (whatever toppings you want)

  7. Put it back in the oven and bake for 16-18 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is crispy. Enjoy!

TIP: If the cheese isn’t melted enough for you just switch your oven to broil for 2-3 minutes until the cheese bubbles
