Hello,

My name is Megan Thompson. I'm a wife, and stay-at-home mom of two beautiful children whom I love dearly. I am passionate about food, but more importantly-the right kinds of foods that we should be putting into our bodies. When I was about 12 or 13 years old I started cooking for my family a lot. I loved making new foods for them to try. It was so satisfying knowing that they loved eating what I was cooking. It made me happy

 

In 2013, right after I was married my mom and sister were diagnosed with Lyme disease, which is a chronic illness that affects your central nervous system. They were really sick, and  they quickly learned that they were eating all the wrong foods.  I started to do my own research and studies about the food industry and over the years I have changed a lot of my eating habits.

 

Then in December 2016 my son was born. At 4 months old he broke out in rashes all over his body and on top of his head as well, he looked like he had a horrible disease. He clearly had chronic eczema, and their wasn't much I could do about it. I was beside myself as a new mother of two and trying everything to make it better. I felt so helpless. Again, I did lots of research and changed a lot of things about his diet. I eliminated a lot of trigger foods like dairy, gluten, wheat and sugar. We ate strictly organic and I made everything from scratch. EVERYTHING! I knew that if I could help him heal than I would do whatever it took. Eventually, as he started to heal (and it did take years) I added foods back into his diet that he now eats just fine. 

Through the experience I learned that it does matter what goes into our bodies. There were times when I felt like I didn't know if a particular food was triggering his eczema flares, but I realized through it all that his healing had to start with what he was eating. Even if it didn't fix it completely with food. It had to start there.

 

Now, I feed my family whole organic foods without any refined sugars or preservatives. I still make all of our meals from scratch and I always check labels on foods that we buy at the grocery store. This has been my journey. I want others to know that their are better options out there, that you don't have to give up treats or foods that you love, but that you can swap simple ingredients for a healthier lifestyle. You'll love all my tasty morsels and see that cooking in the kitchen can be fun and easy!
