DIY Fall Body Butter

Natural & Organic using essential oils

Ingredients:

  • 2 TBSP infused cinnamon oil

  • 2 TBSP organic mango butter

  • 1 TBSP witch hazel

  • 4 drops wild orange essential oil

  • 2 drops cinnamon bark essential oil

  • 1 drop clove oil (optional)

Preparation:

  1. To make the cinnamon infused oil just take a small mason jar and fill it full with cinnamon sticks, as much as it will hold. Pour organic olive oil over the cinnamon sticks to fully cover them. Place a lid on them and store in a cool dark place for 4-6 weeks. After that time it's ready to be used.

  2. Take a double boiler or a small pan and fill with water about half way. Take a smaller glass bowl that will fit inside the water bowl. This will act as your double boiler.

  3. Place infused oil, and mango butter inside the double boiler on low heat. Heat until it is completely melted, then remove from the heat and place the bowl in the refrigerator for about 30-45 minutes so it can get slightly firm.  You will notice the mixture will start to turn opaque and creamy.

  4. Pull it out of the fridge and add your witch hazel and essential oils. I love these specific essential oils because they give it a nice fall scent!

  5. Mix the salve with a fork or a hand mixer. Then let set it aside for about 10 minutes to thicken. After the 10 minutes stir again until it forms a creamy body butter.

*Use on your hands, face, or body. I use it preferable on my face after I've washed it or taken a shower. It also works great for dry hands.

*If the cream begins to separate then just mix again with a fork

*It makes about 2-3 oz and should last for a month or longer.

*This recipe was adapted from the book "100 Easy Homemade Products for your Skin, Health, & Home" which I highly receommend
