Supplies You’ll Need

Preparation

  1. Start by taking your beeswax pellets, cocoa butter, mango butter, and coconut oil, measure into a double boiler. Place on the stove on medium heat. Let all the butters and oils melt completely, then remove from heat. Mix with wooden skewer if you need to as it melts.

  2. Once off the heat add your essential oils, jojoba oil or other carrier oil and your beet root powder (if you want to tint the lip balm). I just picked up my beet root powder from my local health food store since I only needed a small amount.

  3. After all the ingredients are mixed together you can pour into your lip balm holders. Pour carefully, if you spill it comes off easily with a paper towel. Let them set on your counter for about 1 hour. Now you can decorate the outside of the chap stick holders. I used these labels from amazon, they are really cute and affordable!

These can become really fun by customizing scents and colors. Find some essential oil scents that you really like and add them. You can leave out one of the butters if you prefer not to use so many. I like that all of these butters work well together and are very moisturizing!

Yields: About 12 lip balm tubes
