RECIPE Spelt Dinner Rolls



Ingredients

  • 4 c organic spelt flour

  • 2 tsp active dry yeast

  • 2 tsp sea salt

  • 2 TBSP avocado oil

  • 2 TBSP honey

  • 1 1/2 c warm water

Preparation

  1. In a bowl or stand mixer add your warm water, honey and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes so the yeast can bloom.

  2. Add your salt, and oil, give it a little mix. Then start adding your flour. One cup at a time. Once all the flour is in the bowl mix and knead the dough for 3-5 minutes on low speed or by hand.

  3. Let the dough rest in a warm place for 2 hours covered.

  4. After two hours punch down the dough and shape into 12 pieces.

  5. Preheat the oven to 430 degrees

  6. Place the rolls on a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Let the rolls rise for another 1½ hours, or doubled in size.

  7. Spray the tops with oil or butter before placing them in the oven.

  8. Cook for 14-15 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool for about 15 minutes. Then enjoy!
